Fun to Launch Belmar Library’s AuthorTime with Eye Rolls & Awe!
“When I saw the redwoods for the first time, [I realized] we are all so insignificant but definitely have a role to play when we are in the scope of nature like that. I really appreciate that you raised us to feel that way.”
Ciarán Brennan
Does it get any better than to hear your now-grown son announce to the world how much our national parks road trip meant to him when he was 16? His comments were only part of the fun during my March 11 presentation that launched the Belmar Public Library’s new AuthorTalk series.
With a Zoom background that let me sit in a field of wildflowers at Grand Teton National Park, I shared photos of natural wonders, human marvels, wildlife and more from our 7,000-mile road trip with our teens. I happily described the maps, tips and science info woven into Eye Rolls & Awe: A National Park Road Trip with Teens, and explained the latest research in three crucial areas that all parents of teens should know.
Then the real smiles began when attendee came on screen to share their own travel memories, stories and questions. What a wonderful evening and terrific honor to kick off this virtual program for our gem of a library! Enjoy the banter for yourself at https://youtu.be/SMaYkdCgQxk
